Based on some mild success a couple years and a desire to just "play" with some looser visual approaches, these are some embellished older ACEO's and a couple new ones. If interested in buying, leave a comment with contact info.
The slow movements of the lazy creative have developed the acrylic paintings of my niece a skosh further as value studies. Once these get "right," I'll start adding warmer opague layers. Stay tuned.
Started working on an acrylic painting of my niece for me Ma's Christmas gift. Chose a cool gray background and am working a verdaccio-esque under painting over the top of it. See how goes and if I can hold off overly distorting her round baby features.
Great session with Jenna! Tried doing a negative process for the final long pose with some success. Still need to break out the willow charcoal outside of sessions to re-acclimate myself to using it and getting a variety of grays instead of just a basic middle. Fun, though.
Some sketches from last night's figure drawing session. Nothing much to speak of but, as always, good practice / exercise. Need to start laying in values first and then start delineating form.
First time working with LaDonna. Great model who I'm looking forward to working with on November 7th for a Thanksgiving-ish themed session. A lot of miss on this set of drawings but, hopefully, I can use something from them.
Eric was conceived in the silence of a simple hand gesture and born in January of ‘78. He grew up interested in simple doodles of flowers and big trucks, photos of shadows and dark faces and maps, and old men with fake hair. Since, his studies have narrowed to a focus on papier-mache sculpting, acrylic painting and ink drawing. The grounds he works on vary from paper to wood to canvas.
