We had our usual majority percentage in attendance with Becky Lu, Melissa, Randy and I. We shot the breeze a bit and then everyone commenced to working. Melissa worked on / at her figure drawings with markers. Becky worked on an underpainting for an apple piece she was doing for a workshop she was to attend. I believe it pertained to “Paper Painting.” Randy worked on his piece for the Rome Art Coterie / Rome Area Writers collaborative meeting in February. He had already worked up an impressive pastel of the birdhouse to be judged at the March Coterie meeting.
I worked on adding some grays to a couple drawings that I’ve been working on on some manila paper. One of the pieces is, from my perspective, a Streetfighter 2 - Blanca type character pounding the pavement. The other I would say is comparable to a man with a big hand but is heavily abstracted. Also, some grays were added to a sequence of new art cards that I’ll, hopefully, be able to complete and sell in the next month.
Finally, I ended the night photographing the figure drawing worked on the previous night and one of the abstract works created for the Mercer exhibit, Meraki.
