2016.310.PSPRAWCollab.SaddleUp - Illustration created for the collaboration with Rome Area Writers inspired by the prompt "Saddle Up." My premise was to add a saddle and horse-ify the lead character in the Disney Pixar film UP, Carl. It was fun and got a few chuckles!
I'm exhibiting November 5 through December 17 as part of the Pear Street Painters exhibit entitled Meraki (taken from the Greek word which means,"The soul, creativity, or love put into something; the essence of yourself that is put into your work.") It will be on display at Mercer University in the Brown Art Gallery (part of the Monroe F. Swilley, Jr. Library).
When you check it out, let me know what you think.
On September 18th, we (Pear Street Painters) started a new collaboration - the first one since 2011. Over a period of about an hour and a half, we created the accompanying piece. We'll try to finish the piece at our September 25 session.
Please visit the Pear Street Painters website to view a video of the painting in progress.
Eric was conceived in the silence of a simple hand gesture and born in January of ‘78. He grew up interested in simple doodles of flowers and big trucks, photos of shadows and dark faces and maps, and old men with fake hair. Since, his studies have narrowed to a focus on papier-mache sculpting, acrylic painting and ink drawing. The grounds he works on vary from paper to wood to canvas.
